A day at the River...

This past weekend we went with some friends to spend the day at the Nile and enjoyed the cool water as a break from the heat. We took a picnic lunch and then swam for a few hours. Sadie Mac LOVED being in the water. She was even splashing around kicking her arms and legs when we'd put her on her belly. The Nile is so wide we felt like we were at a lake! After we swam, we enjoyed sitting by the shore, but not for too long as the sun was HOT!!

Sleeping Through Hydration

This is our baby, sleeping with her little bottom in the air. Lately, it's been pretty hot so she's sleeping with no pj's! At night, when we put her down, we give her water before she goes to bed, then a few hours later before we lay down to sleep, we give her a little more. When we first started doing this a few weeks ago, she would stir and wake up when we'd give her water. Now, the little girl just sleeps right through it. We can roll her over, put the little sippy cup to her mouth, she drinks it and rolls back over without batting an eye. This is now known as sleeping through hydration.

Celebrating the Savior...

We enjoyed an Easter Sunrise Service on the banks of the Nile River and it was truly beautiful. The weather was perfect (until around 8:30!!) and everyone enjoyed a breakfast feast afterwards. We are so thankful to be here and to celebrate the truth of Christ and that He is Risen!

Big Trip North...

Yesterday we traveled outside of the city and decided to go north to a place with pyramids and a big mountain that we thought would be fun to see. It was a long journey, but it was fun and a nice chance to see different places. We left early and didn't get back until late... but here are some of the sights we enjoyed.

Pyramids...

Camels, Camels, and more Camels...

The beautiful Nile River.

Many people might confuse a "sand drift" with a snow drift... let us help you. This is a sand drift.

We think that this was a pharaoh carved out of the back side of the mountain.

The first pay phone we've ever seen in the sandbox!

Really?!? Playstation... here?!?

GO Heels!!

Carolina girls... BEST in the world!! Yay, our Tar Heels won the national championship!!! Roy and the boys pulled it off! Woohoo! So, of course we are raising our daughter right- to be a Heels fan! This is the closest thing we had to one of those cute little cheerleading outfits! Unfortunately, the local sports store was fresh out, so she had to wear mama's t-shirt! We couldn't get the little cheerleader to smile either... that's a first! Anyway... GO HEELS!

We are Tar Heel born and Tar Heel bred, and when we die we are Tar Heels dead!
